Yvon Mau Wines - Quality and Authenticity
The Yvon Mau trading house is already in its 4th generation of family ownership. It was founded in 1897 and is today one of the ten largest "Négociants" in Bordeaux. Yvon Mau's wide range of wines includes wines in the entry-level price segment, family-run estates from virtually all appellations of Bordeaux to the most prestigious classified châteaux.
Yvon Mau's unconditional focus on the best possible quality has certainly contributed to its great success. Thus, the trading house was the first ever to meet important quality criteria. However, it is not only these standards that have led to the company's success, but above all its commitment to creating authentic wines through sustainable viticulture, in order to always offer customers the best possible price-quality ratio.
The logo of the producer has its origins in the time of the 1st World War. At that time, the son of the founder Aristide Mau, Yvon, was constantly looking for new varieties of wine to grow. Since horses were needed for the war effort and were therefore not available to Yvon, he used his penny-farthing to get from one place to another. His descendants decided to make just such a penny-farthing the emblem of the winery in his honor.
