The Winkeler Riesling presents itself wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate thanks to its concise fruit acidity. The finish of this white wine from the Rheingau wine-growing region, which is capable of maturing well, is convincing with a beautiful aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the clay and loess-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Allendorf Winkeler Riesling
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Riesling. Only the best grapes were used for this wonderfully balanced single-varietal wine from Allendorf. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on loam and loess soils in the Rheingau. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the elegant Winkeler Riesling is matured for several months in oak barrels.
