Winery Hirth - less is more

Weingut Hirth is a Württemberg winegrowing company, which is now in its third generation of family ownership. It was founded by Karl Hirth, one of the initiators of the local winegrowers' cooperative, and managed until 1970. Subsequently, his son Walter took over the company and continued the family tradition of viticulture. His son, Helmuth Hirth, also shares a love for wines, but decided to transform the business when he took over. Inspired by the outstanding German Rieslings of the Mosel and Rhine, Helmuth Hirth's goal is to push the quality of Hirth's wines. Thus, the work at the Hirth winery today is characterized by the demand for a perfect wine. With the help of viticultural technician Gebhardt Steng and cellar master Frank Kayser, he creates organic wines of a special kind. Probably one of the most important factors for the wines of the Swabian estate is time.

In contrast to the fast pace of our modern world, the winemakers here sit back and give the fruit what it needs: Time to ripen on the vine into full-bodied aromatic grapes. A balancing act, but the patience is worth it, because only "what the grapes bring from the vineyard becomes special goodness in the barrel." The Hirth winery focuses on a few selected grape varieties instead of working on mass. According to the motto "less is more", balanced, aromatic wines are created here.
