More information about Volcanic Rosé Languedoc AOP - Château la Sauvageonne

In the glass, the biodynamically produced Volcanic Rosé Languedoc of Château la Sauvageonne presents a dense ruby color. After the first swirl, this rosé wine reveals a high density and fullness, which is evident in clear church windows at the edge of the glass. This French cuvée presents delightfully youthful notes of blackcurrant, red currant, raspberry and violet in the glass. These are joined by hints of vanilla.

On the palate, the Volcanic Rosé Languedoc of Château la Sauvageonne starts pleasantly dry, grippy and aromatic. On the tongue, this punchy rosé wine is characterized by an incredibly light texture. On the finish, this youthful wine from the Languedoc-Roussillon wine-growing region finally delights with good length. Once again, hints of rose and red currant appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by volcanic rock are added.

Vinification of the Volcanic Rosé Languedoc from Château la Sauvageonne

The basis for Château la Sauvageonne's premium and wonderfully powerful Volcanic Rosé Languedoc cuvée is Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah grapes. The grapes grow in optimal conditions in Languedoc-Roussillon. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of volcanic rock. Volcanic Rosé Languedoc is an Old World wine through and through, as this Frenchman exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. After the grapes are harvested, they move swiftly to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for 6 months in oak barriques.

Food recommendation for the Volcanic Rosé Languedoc of Château la Sauvageonne

Enjoy this biodynamic rosé wine from France ideally very well chilled at 5 - 7°C as a companion to leek soup, fruity endive salad or spaghetti with yogurt-mint pesto.
