The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG from Tenuta La Braccesca impresses with its intense ruby red colour. Notes of redcurrant and blackberry, violet and vanilla notes and spicy aromas characterize the bouquet. On the palate, the tannins are full, round and sweet, with intense berry flavours and elegant spiciness, dense and structured, very elegant, soft and balanced. The finish is long, with a fine mineral note in the long aftertaste.
Vinification of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG from La Braccesca
For this classic Vino Nobile 90% Sangiovese grosso, in this area also called Prugnolo gentile, and 10% Merlot are vinified. The Sangiovese gives the wines elegance and aromas, the Merlot freshness, pleasant drinkability and aroma. The Sangiovese grape harvest takes place at the beginning of October, the Merlot ripens a little earlier. After the manual harvest, the grapes are macerated for about ten days, then the wine is placed in oak barrels of various sizes where malolactic fermentation takes place, followed by 12 months of ageing. After bottling, the Vino Nobile matures for another year in the bottle before being sold.
