This Vinas Viejas Rioja grape variety from Beronia comes from the famous Spanish region of Rioja.
This wine shimmers in a deep dark plum colour with a black core. The expressive bouquet is determined by aromas of ripe plums, juicy shade morals and blackberries. The aromas of the nose are underlined by roasted coffee, liquorice and some spice The dark fruit is also clearly noticeable on the full-bodied palate. The juicy, fleshy texture harmonizes perfectly with the wonderful freshness and balanced structure. The long-lasting finale is accompanied by a hint of mint.
Vinification of the Beronia Reserva MazueloThe
Tempranillo grapes for this Spanish red wine come from more than 50 years old vines.
As soon as the harvested material arrives in the wine cellar, the grapes are first cold mashed for a few days. After cold maceration, alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 26 degrees Celsius in a stainless steel tank. The mash is pumped around regularly. As a result, oxygen is supplied to the mash, which softens the tannins and also allows the colour pigments, as well as the wonderful variety of aromas, to develop perfectly.
Malolactic fermentation is carried out on this wine in French oak barrels. This also contributes to this wine gaining its deep dark color and typical aromas. For a total of 7 months, this Spanish wine is then aged in "mixed" barrels - these barrels were specially made for the Bodegas Beronia and consist of both American and French oak.
Finally, this red wine rests on the bottle for 6 months after bottling.
