In the heart of Catalonia, the vineyards of Vilarnau winery are located amidst the towering mountains of Montserrat. There, at an altitude of 250 meters, the vines benefit from the Mediterranean and particularly sunny climate of the region and the spiritual influences of the famous nearby monastery. Vilarnau 's cavas are prepared using the traditional bottle fermentation method from mostly local grapes:

A brief look at the history
Vilarnau a contraction of the Latin - Vila Arnau (the country house of the Arnau family). The Vilarnau family vinified the first cava under the Vilarnau name in 1949, and since then people have associated the Vilarnau winery with excellent, high quality cavas - made with attention to detail. in 1982 Vilarnau became part of the Gonzalez Byass family.
