More information about Valpolicella DOC - Antiche Terre

The elegant Valpolicella from Antiche Terre flows into the glass with a bright ruby red color. If you tilt the glass slightly, you can see a transition in the wine's color towards garnet red at the edges. This Antiche Terre red wine reveals all kinds of sour cherries to the nose. As if that wasn't already impressive, further aromas such as liquorice are added due to the ageing in stainless steel.

The Antiche Terre Valpolicella impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with 3 grams of residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Taste does not necessarily require a lot of sugar. This dense red wine is balanced and multi-faceted on the palate. Thanks to its vital fruit acidity, the Valpolicella is impressively fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this mature red wine from the Veneto wine-growing region impresses with its considerable length. There are again hints of sour cherry.

Vinification of Antiche Terre Valpolicella

The basis for this balanced Valpolicella from Italy is grapes from the Corvina and Rondinella varieties. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are transported to the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.

Wine pairing recommendation for Antiche Terre Valpolicella

This Italian wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It goes perfectly with lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs, braised chicken in red wine or duck breast with sugar snap peas.
