The Valeirano Barbaresco DOCG by La Spinetta presents itself with a dark cherry red and an almost exotic bouquet in the glass. Rather, this is reminiscent of a barolo with notes of truffle and marzipan. Furthermore, it reveals wonderful fruit notes of dark berries.
This Nebbiolo is concentrated on the palate, lush and present with the aromas of dried currants and berries. Fine tannins and mineral charges lead into its long finale.
Vinification for the Valeirano Barbaresco DOCG from La Spinetta
After harvesting the grapes, alcoholic fermentation takes place for 7 to 8 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels lasting about 20 to 22 months. Before bottling, this red wine is placed in stainless steel tanks for 3 months, followed by refinement in the bottle for a further 12 months. No filtration or clarification takes place before filling.
