The Valcolomba Merlot of Carpineto originates in Maremma, the famous Mediterranean coastal strip of Tuscany. Pure joy brings this varietal Merlot into the glass, in which the red wine shines intensely ruby red. The bouquet delights with wine-juicy aromas of ripe cherries, blackberries and other dark berries.   On the palate, the Carpineto Valcolomba Merlot is wonderfully soft, round and elegantly structured. A small supertuscan that looks great both neat and accompanied by spicy dishes. In the finale, this Maremma mellow delights with soft tannins and a well-structured fruit acid.   How is Valcolomba Merlot vinified by Carpineto?   The Merlot grapes are mashed and macerated for 15 days. Fermentation is then carried out at 28°C and regularly surrounding the pomace and aerating the wine. After the biological acid conversion of Valcolomba Merlot, the wine is transferred to concrete tanks where it can harmonise until bottling.   What do you eat for Valcolomba Merlot?   This maremma merlot is a perfect accompaniment to grilled pork or poultry, pizza with spicy sauces and salami or roast.
