The Traou de l'Ouille Côtes du Roussillon by Mas Janeil from Languedoc-Roussillon offers a dense, light yellow color in the wine glass. If you give it some air in the glass by swirling, this white wine reveals a high viscosity, which is evident in clear church windows at the edge of the glass. The bouquet of this white wine from Languedoc-Roussillon enchants with aromas of peach and acacia. If we trace the aromatics further, smoky, hazelnut and vanilla come in, encouraged by the oak influence.
Mas Janeil Traou de l'Ouille Côtes du Roussillon delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with only 2 grams of residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this Frenchman enchants naturally with all dryness with the finest balance. Taste does not necessarily need residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful white wine is wonderfully light. With its lively fruit acidity, the Traou de l'Ouille Côtes du Roussillon reveals itself wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this youthful white wine from the Languedoc-Roussillon wine-growing region, more precisely from Cotes du Roussillon, finally impresses with good reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and limestone.
Vinification of the Traou de l'Ouille Côtes du Roussillon from Mas Janeil
The basis for Mas Janeil's premium and wonderfully powerful Traou de l'Ouille Côtes du Roussillon cuvée is Grenache Gris and Viura grapes. The grapes grow in optimal conditions in Languedoc-Roussillon. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay and limestone. Clearly, Traou de l'Ouille Côtes du Roussillon is also defined by more than just the Cotes du Roussillon soil. This Frenchman can be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, with an exceptionally impressive presentation. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for Traou de l'Ouille Côtes du Roussillon are harvested exclusively by hand without the use of punishing and less selective full harvesters. After the hand harvest, the grapes immediately reach the winery. Here they are sorted and gently broken up. Fermentation follows in large wood at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by a maturation of 10 months in French oak barrels.
