The Junior Ruby Port from Niepoort is a young, full-bodied and fruity port wine from Sousão, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Cão, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Francesa, Touriga Nacional and other red Portuguese grape varieties.
In the glass, this port presents itself in a bright, dark red. The appealing aromatic nose reveals intense notes of ripe fruit - particularly ripe plums and juicy cherries stand out. The bouquet is accompanied by nuances of cocoa and dark chocolate. On the palate, this port wine is wonderfully velvety and soft. A port with a lot of taste and abundance.
Vinification of Niepoort The Junior Ruby Port
The hand-picked grapes, from older vineyards in the Cima Corgo region in the Douro Valley, are fermented in traditional lagars. Subsequently, this port matures for an average of three years in large wood fodder in the Niepoort cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia before this port wine is bottled.
