The Tempranillo Rioja of Viña Olabarri from La Rioja presents a dense ruby color in the swirled glass. This varietal Spanish wine flatters in the glass wonderfully distinguished notes of raspberries, elderberries and sour cherries. These are joined by hints of other fruits.
The Viña Olabarri Tempranillo Rioja delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with only 1.8 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the upper price range, this Spaniard naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully silky. Due to its present fruit acidity, the Tempranillo Rioja presents itself wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of La Rioja finally inspires with beautiful length. Again, hints of elderberry and raspberry show.
Vinification of the Viña Olabarri Tempranillo Rioja
The basis for the powerful Tempranillo Rioja from La Rioja are grapes from the grape variety Tempranillo. After the hand harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully ground. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
Food recommendation for the Tempranillo Rioja from Viña Olabarri
This Spaniard is best enjoyed tempered at 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to pumpkin casserole, spinach gratin with almonds or leek soup.
