The Summa Varietalis Tinto by Marques de Grinon is a wonderful red wine cuvée made from Syrah (50%), Petit Verdot (30%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%).
As Grande de España, the owner of the Carlos Falcó winery belongs to the highest category of Spanish aristocracy. Xandra Falcó is the daughter of Marqués de Griñon and succeeds him. The first wine she creates is the Summa Varietalis, which presents itself as a beautiful noble daughter: charming, modern, smart and with a touch of extravagance, all in all a very feminine wine type.
In the glass, this wine shines in a rich cherry red with purple highlights. The floral bouquet is dominated by intense aromas of violets. This is accompanied by notes of ripe berries as well as delicate toast nuances and a fine hint of chocolate. On the palate, this Spanish red wine is fruity with a fleshy texture that harmonizes perfectly with the soft and well-integrated tannins. The finale comes with a pleasant length.
Vinification of Marques de Grinon Summa Varietalis
The grapes for this elegant red wine grow on 13-year-old vines in the Spanish wine region D.O. Dominio de Valdepusa on rocky limestone soils.
The harvest takes place exclusively by hand between mid-September and mid-October. After the grapes have arrived in the winery, the harvested material is pressed and then fermented in stainless steel tanks in a temperature-controlled manner. This wine was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
Food recommendation for the Summa Varietalis Marques de Grinon
This dry red wine from Spain is a wonderfully round and elegant wine, modern made, a palate flattering and excellent soloist. But this wine also drinks very well with game, grilled meat and cheese.
