The Tuscan way of life in a glass

The name Strozzi belongs to one of the oldest noble families in Italy. In addition to the production of top Tuscan wines, the Strozzi family can also look back on a tradition that goes back to the millennium before last. The first vineyard of the family was already mentioned in a document in 994. It is located in the picturesque area of Siena and Florence.

In fact, however, Strozzi did not start growing grapes professionally until the 20th century. Today, the winery is owned and managed jointly by Prince Girolamo Strozzi and Count Robert Guicciardini. With some of the best vineyards of this region, they manage to produce wines of the highest perfection, which at the same time present the taste of the Tuscan way of life. The very high quality of the wines is guaranteed by the highest quality level in Italy,"DOCG", the government controlled designation of origin.

Winery Strozzi

The Strozzi winery in the best wine growing climate

Strozzi grows wine on approximately 70 hectares. With a total area of 530 hectares, the Tuscan winery could produce far more, but here, too, they follow the motto "class not mass". Nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscany, just a few kilometers from San Gimignano, the vineyards are located close to the coast. The vines therefore thrive here in a Mediterranean climate, with warm summer months and temperate winters. A climate that allows the cultivation of a wide range of grape varieties. The clayey as well as chalky soil contributes to the almost perfect growing conditions. At Strozzi, well-known grape varieties such as Sangiovese and Merlot are cultivated, but lesser-known varieties such as Petit Verdot and Ancellotta are also allowed to show their potential here.

Convincing critics with the right feeling

With its high-class wines, such as the fruity-warm Tenute Guicciardini Strozzi Ocra Bolgheri 2015 or the tangy-fresh Vernaccia di San Gimignano 2016, Strozzi knows how to pamper the palates of wine critics admirably. This is, among other things, the result of the great dedication that the grape processing undergoes at the Strozzi winery. The winemakers have an excellent feeling for wine and you can taste it with every glass.
