More information about Somerento Chardonnay Alto Adige DOC - Cantina Andrian

The elegant Somerento Chardonnay Alto Adige from Cantina Andrian gleams a bright golden yellow in the glass. The first nose of the Somerento Chardonnay Alto Adige reveals notes of gooseberries, elderberries and peaches. The fruity hints of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel ageing and even more fruity, balsamic nuances.

This white wine from Cantina Andrian is ideal for wine lovers who would prefer 0.0 grams of sugar in their wine. The Somerento Chardonnay Alto Adige comes very close to this, as it was produced with just 1.6 grams of residual sugar. The texture of this balanced white wine is wonderfully dense on the palate. Thanks to its vital fruit acidity, Somerento Chardonnay Alto Adige is impressively fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this youthful white wine from the Trentino-Alto Adige wine-growing region, more precisely from Alto Adige / South Tyrol DOC, finally delights with good persistence. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the limestone-dominated soils.

Vinification of the Somerento Chardonnay Alto Adige from Cantina Andrian

The basis for the balanced Somerento Chardonnay Alto Adige from Italy are grapes from the Chardonnay grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Trentino-Alto Adige. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into limestone soil. After harvesting, the grapes are transported to the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and large wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the Somerento Chardonnay Alto Adige can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for 6 months.

Dining recommendations for Cantina Andrian Somerento Chardonnay Alto Adige

This white wine from Italy is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C as an accompaniment to vegetable salad with beetroot, asparagus salad with quinoa or fruity endive salad.
