The elegant Silvaner Buntsandstein Bickel-Stumpf comes into the glass with bright light yellow. The nose of this white wine from Franconia delights with notes of quince, nashi pear, plum and black cherry. If we trace the aromatics further, cinnamon, gingerbread spice and cocoa bean are added.
The Silvaner Buntsandstein from Bickel-Stumpf is just right for all wine lovers who like as little residual sugar in their wine as possible. At the same time, however, it never shows itself to be meager or brittle, as one would naturally expect from a wine in the high quality wine range. On the palate, the texture of this balanced white wine is wonderfully light. Due to its present fruit acidity, the Silvaner Buntsandstein reveals itself exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. The finale of this white wine from the wine-growing region of Franconia, more precisely from Frickenhausen, finally impresses with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the soils dominated by sandstone.
Vinification of the Bickel-Stumpf Silvaner Buntsandstein
The basis for the balanced Silvaner Buntsandstein from Franconia are grapes from the grape variety Silvaner. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Franconia. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of sandstone. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for Silvaner Buntsandstein are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective machinery. After the harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully milled. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
Food recommendation for Bickel-Stumpf Silvaner Buntsandstein
This German wine is best enjoyed moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to spaghetti with yogurt-mint pesto, coconut-lime fish curry or vegetable salad with beetroot.
