More information about Signum Aetnae Etna Rosso Riserva DOC - Firriato

In the glass, the Signum Aetnae Etna Rosso Riserva from Firriato has a dense ruby red color. If you hold the glass at a slight angle, you can see a transition of the color towards garnet red at the edges. After the first swirl, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in church windows at the edge of the glass. In the glass, this red wine from Firriato offers aromas of redcurrant and raspberry, complemented by cloves and forest floor. The Firriato Signum Aetnae Etna Rosso Riserva impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with exceptionally low residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so, despite its dryness, this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily need a lot of sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully full-bodied. The finish of this mature red wine from the wine-growing region of Sicily, more precisely from Etna DOC, is impressive with a remarkable lingering aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the volcanic rock and sand-dominated soils.

Vinification of Firriato Signum Aetnae Etna Rosso Riserva

This powerful red wine from Italy is made from the Nerello Mascalese grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Sicily. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of sand and volcanic rock. There is no doubt that the Signum Aetnae Etna Rosso Riserva is also determined by the Etna DOC climate and viticultural style. This Italian wine can literally be described as a wine of the Old World, which is extraordinarily complex. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures.
