The seven-oak Merlot Riserva Alto Adige DOC by Cantina Terlan sparkles in the glass in a rich ruby red and enchants with its wonderful, multi-layered bouquet, from which the scent of dried plums and cranberries, as well as herbal aromas of mint, eucalyptus and a touch of pepper stand out. On the palate, this pure red wine unfolds with a stable tannin structure and fruity aromas, complex, balanced and profound. The finish is long and sustainable.
Vinification of the Seven Oak Merlot Riserva Alto Adige DOC by Cantine Terlan
For this body-rich, fine red wine from the Terlano winery, 100% Merlot grapes are vinified, which grow in the south on clay-containing soils. Harvesting and selection is done manually. The grapes are destemmed and then fermented slowly at a controlled temperature and with gentle movement of the must in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation and subsequent ageing over 12 months takes place 50% in large oak barrels and 50% in barriques. For the expansion in barriques, a third new barrels are used. Three months before bottling, the cuvée is made from the two wines
.Food recommendation for Siebeneich Merlot Riserva Alto Adige DOC
This South Tyrolean Merlot fits perfectly with braised kids shoulder with wild vegetables, beef fillet with rocket, rabbit stew or lamb tenderloin with polenta and spinach, or as an interesting accompaniment to the Parmigiana from aubergines
