The Sauvignon Blanc from Schug Winery is vinified exclusively from Sauvignon Blanc grapes and is presented in a delicate light gold in the glass.
The bouquet reveals balanced fruit aromas of kiwi, lime and grapefruit - accompanied by floral notes. The personality appears on the palate with a wonderful spice and balanced acidity. Due to the sur lie ageing, this white wine gains a wonderfully creamy texture. The finale is characterized by refreshing minerality and crisp acidity.
Vinification of Schug Sauvignon Blanc Sonoma Coast
The grapes for this California white wine come from different vineyards. 32% of the harvested wine comes from Sonoma Coast AVA on the Hi-Vista vineyard - 21% comes from Grossi Vineyard in the north of Petaluma - and 47% from Leveroni Vineyard.
After harvesting the Sauvignon Blanc grapes, the harvested goods are immediately taken to the winery. There the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then stored in barriques on fine yeasts (sur Lie ageing).
Food recommendation for the Sonoma Coast Sauvignon Blanc by Schug
Enjoy this dry white wine from California with light cream soups - especially asparagus, grilled fish in herbal cloak or mussels in white wine soup.
