The elegant Sauvignon Blanc Fumé from the house of Katrin Wind flows into the glass with a bright light yellow color. Swiveling the glass, one can perceive a perfect balance in this white wine, as it stands out on the glass walls neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like. To the nose, this Katrin Wind white wine presents all sorts of lemons and passion fruit.
This German wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in this price range, this German wine naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Taste does not necessarily need residual sugar. On the tongue, this well-balanced white wine is characterized by an incredibly fleshy, creamy and dense texture. The final of this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of the Palatinate, more precisely from Arzheim, finally thrills with good reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the limestone-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Katrin Wind Sauvignon Blanc Fumé
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Sauvignon Blanc. Only impeccable grapes were used for this exceptionally balanced varietal wine from Katrin Wind. In the Palatinate, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of limestone. Clearly, the Sauvignon Blanc Fumé is also determined by the climate and viticultural style Arzheim. This German wine can be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, with an exceptionally youthful presentation. The grapes for this white wine from Germany are harvested, at the time of optimal ripeness, exclusively by hand. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging for several months in oak barriques.
