More information about Saumur Champigny Rouge - Langlois-Chateau

The powerful Saumur Champigny Rouge from Langlois-Chateau comes into the glass with a dense purple color. With a little time in the glass, this Old World red wine reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of strawberry and blackberry.

On the palate, Langlois-Chateau's Saumur Champigny Rouge opens wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. Pressive and multilayered, this light red wine presents itself on the palate. The final of this red wine from the wine-growing region of the Val de Loire, which has good aging potential, finally thrills with good reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the limestone-dominated soils.

Vinification of the Saumur Champigny Rouge from Langlois-Chateau

This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Cabernet Franc. Only impeccable grape material was brought in for this wonderfully powerful single varietal wine from Langlois-Chateau. The grapes grow in optimal conditions in the Val de Loire. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of limestone. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Saumur Champigny Rouge can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for a few months.

Food recommendation for the Langlois-Chateau Saumur Champigny Rouge

Experience this red wine from France ideally moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C as an accompanying wine to spaghetti with yogurt-mint pesto, omelet with salmon and fennel or stir-fried vegetables with fish.
