Vinification of the Sandgrube 13 Blauer Zweigelt from Winzer Krems

The balanced 13 Blauer Zweigelt from Austria is a single-varietal wine, pressed from the Zweigelt grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Lower Austria. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay and gravel. The grapes for this red wine from Austria, at the time of optimal ripeness, are harvested particularly quickly and at the coolest possible time of day to preserve their aroma. After harvesting, the grapes are taken to the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
