More information about Saint-Émilion AOP 1er Cru Classé - Château Cheval Blanc

In the glass, the Saint-Émilion 1er Cru Classé from Château Cheval Blanc presents a bright purple color. At the edges, this French red also shows a transition into garnet red. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this Old World red wine reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of violet and blackberry, rounded out by other fruity nuances contributed by barrel aging.

The Château Cheval Blanc Saint-Émilion 1er Cru Classé presents itself to the wine connoisseur pleasantly dry. This red wine never appears coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine. Balanced and complex, this powerful red wine presents itself on the palate. The finale of this mature red wine from the wine-growing region of Bordeaux, more precisely from Saint-Emilion, finally thrills with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the soils dominated by gravel and sand.

Vinification of the Saint-Émilion 1er Cru Classé from Château Cheval Blanc

The basis for the balanced Saint-Émilion 1er Cru Classé from France are grapes from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Bordeaux. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of sand and gravel. The grapes for this red wine from France, when perfectly ripe, are harvested exclusively by hand. After the hand harvest, the grapes arrive quickly at the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.

Food recommendation for the Saint-Émilion 1er Cru Classé from Château Cheval Blanc
