Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2019 - Argiano
More information

The Rosso di Montalcino DOC from Argiano made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes is a typical terroir wine from Montalcino, in the heart of Tuscany.
The wine is ruby red in colour, with a fascinating bouquet of red berries, generous fruit notes, violet and menthol, fresh and lively.

On the palate it gives itself fruity elegant, round, inviting and well balanced with gentle tannin. Long, soft finish.
He is already young and ready to drink, but has good potential. After a few years of maturation, it can still gain depth
.

This wine harmonizes particularly well with the classic bruschetta, with veal, dark meat and cheese.
It is recommended to open the bottle 2 hours before consumption.

Vinification of the Rosso di Montalcino DOC of Argiano

Like Brunello, Argiano's Rosso di Montalcino DOC is made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes grown on vineyards around the estate. A traditional terroir wine from the Montalcino area, treated with the same care as Brunello from care to bottling.
The Sangiovese grapes for this fine wine are harvested by hand and fermented for two to three weeks in stainless steel tanks with the skins, followed by a second malolactic fermentation, which gives the wine its gentle character. It is then first transferred to French oak barriques in the second pass, followed by further ageing in large Slavonian oak barrels.
Only in the autumn following the harvest is the wine bottled
.

The vintage 2012 was awarded 91 points by James Suckling, the vintage 2013 by Wine Advocat Robert Parker with 89 points.
