More information about Riesling Alte Reben trocken 1,5 l Magnum - Maximin Grünhaus

The elegant Riesling Alte Reben 1,5 l Magnum from the house Maximin Grünhaus flows into the glass with a bright light yellow color. After the first swirl, one can perceive a perfect balance in this white wine, as it stands out on the glass walls neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like. Poured into a white wine glass, this white wine from the Old World offers wonderfully complex aromas of ripe apple and peach, rounded by minerality contributed by aging in wooden barrels.

This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine icon wine segment, this German wine naturally enraptures with the finest balance for all its dryness. Taste does not necessarily need a lot of sugar. On the palate, the texture of this balanced white wine is wonderfully dense. In the finish, this well storable white wine from the wine-growing region of the Mosel finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of peach and ripe apple. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the slate-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of the Maximin Grünhaus Riesling Old Vines 1.5 l Magnum

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Riesling. Only the best grape material was brought in for this wonderfully balanced single-varietal wine from Maximin Grünhaus. The grapes grow under optimal conditions on the Mosel. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of slate. Without question, the Riesling Alte Reben 1,5 l Magnum is also determined by more than just the soil Mertesdorf. This German wine can literally be called a wine of the Old World, which presents itself exceptionally complex. After the grape harvest, the grapes reach the press house by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the elegant Riesling Alte Reben 1,5 l Magnum is aged for several months in 1000 liter oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Maximin Grünhaus Riesling Alte Reben 1,5 l Magnum

This German white wine is best enjoyed moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to omelet with salmon and fennel, coconut-lime fish curry or fruity endive salad.
