The Redoma Tinto from Niepoort is a wonderfully complex red wine cuvée and is vinified from Tinta Amarela, Tinta Cão, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Francesa and other Portuguese red grape varieties.
In the glass, this wine shines in a clear ruby red with purple reflections. The bouquet reveals wonderful notes of fresh red fruits - especially raspberry - and juicy plum. The fruit aroma is underlined by some spice notes, a finely floral hint of cistrose and a herbal hint. On the palate, this Portuguese red wine presents a wonderfully complex, firm and compact character, accompanied by perfectly structured tannins. The fresh acidity harmonizes very well with this Portuguese personality and the expressive variety of aromas. This wine concludes with a very elegant, mineral and long-lasting finish.
Vinification of Redoma Niepoort Tinto
The grapes for this red wine come from an old vineyard near the Quinta de Nápoles. The harvesting is done exclusively by hand. The harvested material is strictly selected in the wine cellar and 50% is destemmed. The pressing is done with the foot and the malolactic fermentation in traditional lagars. Finally, this wine matures for a total of 22 months in used wood fodder.
