More information about RC2 Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG - Tenuta Marciliano

The barrel-aged RC2 Sagrantino di Montefalco from the wine-growing region of Umbria presents itself in a dense ruby red in the glass. Held at a slight angle, the red wine glass reveals a charming garnet-red hue at the edges. When the glass is swirled, this red wine reveals a high density and richness, which can be seen in the stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. In the glass, this red wine from Tenuta Marciliano presents aromas of redcurrants, blackberries and plums, complemented by other fruity nuances. This Italian wine impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine from the Icon wine segment, this Italian wine naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. The texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully velvety on the palate. The RC2 Sagrantino di Montefalco is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate thanks to its concise fruit acidity. On the finish, this mature wine from the Umbria wine-growing region finally impresses with its considerable length. Once again, there are hints of redcurrant and blackberry. In the finish, mineral notes of the clay and brown earth dominated soils are added.

Vinification of the RC2 Sagrantino di Montefalco from Tenuta Marciliano

The powerful RC2 Sagrantino di Montefalco from Italy is a single-varietal wine made from the Sagrantino grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Umbria. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of clay and brown earth. Naturally, the RC2 Sagrantino di Montefalco is also determined by the climate and the Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG style of viticulture. This Italian wine can literally be described as an Old World wine that presents itself in an exceptionally impressive way. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small wooden vats at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn off.

Recommendation for the RC2 Sagrantino di Montefalco from Tenuta Marciliano
