More information

The Ramitello Biferno Rosso DOC of Di Majo Norante shows intense ruby red with violet reflections in the glass. The bouquet reveals scents of ripe sour cherries, juicy blackberries and other dark wild berries, plum, forest floor and hints of leather and licorice. On the palate, this red wine from Molise is fantastically round, juicy, full-bodied, the fruity and spicy flavors  are perfectly balanced, the balance between ripe tannin and lively fruit acidity makes the Ramitello a real top cuvée.

Vinification of the Ramitello Biferno Rosso DOC by Di Majo Norante

This red cru from Di Majo Norante is made from Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 80% and Aglianico del Molise 20%, grown in the Ramitello vineyard in Campomarino on clayey soils, the vines are on average 10 years old. After the manual harvest at the end of October, the grapes macerate in contact with the skins for about a month. After fermentation and complete malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in wooden barrels and in stainless steel. Finally, it is aged in bottle for at least 6 months.

Food pairing for the Ramitello Biferno Rosso DOC from Di Majo Norante

This characterful southern Italian red wine is excellent with rich dishes, especially meat preparations with white and red meat, game and aged cheeses. It tastes best when served at 18°C
