Puro Corte d'Oro Mendoza 2017 - Dieter Meier
Prices incl. VAT plus shipping costs
The dense, dark red colour of Dieter Meier's Puro Corte d'Oro is streaked with youthful violet reflections. This excellent red wine cuvée is made from Malbec (40%), Cabernet Sauvignon (33%) and Petit Verdot (27%).
The clear fruity bouquet convinces the nose with juicy red fruits such as heart cherries and fine plums. Finely spicy nuances of vanilla are added. On the palate, this red wine is extremely complex and full-bodied, with powerful and wonderfully integrated tannins and a good body. Elegant and perfectly balanced, with delicate roasted aromas and lots of juicy fruit (blackcurrants), this wine pleases with an excellent length in the finish.
Vinification of Dieter Meier Puro Corte D'Oro
In the Argentinean wine-growing region Luján de Cuyo on high altitude vineyards the vines for this red wine grow. The high altitude offers the advantage that the natural maturing process is delayed by the cool nights and the grapes for this red wine can reach their full maturity. The result is an excellent harmony between alcohol, tannins, aromas and fresh acidity.
Dieter Meier's vineyards are cultivated exclusively using organic farming methods.
The grapes for this top-quality red wine are harvested in April and immediately processed in the winery. In stainless steel tanks, the mash is fermented at controlled temperatures of 27 to 29 °C. This multi-layered red wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (first and second vinification) so that it can develop perfectly.
Food recommendation for the Puro Corte D'Oro from Dieter Meier
We recommend this dry red wine from Argentina with strong stews - such as roast beef in red wine sauce, grilled steaks with spicy sauces or mature cheeses.
