More information about Portugieser halbtrocken 1,0 l - P.J. Valckenberg
The light-footed Portugieser from the house of P.J. Valckenberg enters the glass with a brilliant light red color. The first nose of the Portugieser presents notes of red currant, raspberries and strawberries. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by more fruity-balsamic nuances.
On the palate, the texture of this light-bodied red wine is wonderfully creamy. In the finish, this youthful wine from the wine-growing region of the Palatinate finally delights with good length. Hints of raspberry and red currant are again evident.
Vinification of the P.J. Valckenberg Portugieser
This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Blauer Portugieser. For this wonderfully elegant single-varietal wine from P.J. Valckenberg, only impeccable grapes were brought in. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. At the end of the fermentation, the Portugieser is allowed to further harmonize on the fine lees for a few months.
