More information about Pommard AOC - Louis Jadot

The barrel-aged Pommard from the Burgundy wine-growing region presents itself in the glass in a bright light red. When swirling the wine glass, one can perceive a first-class balance in this red wine, as it stands out on the glass walls neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this Old World red wine reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of black currant and blackberry, rounded out by other fruity nuances contributed by barrel aging.

On the palate, Louis Jadot's Pommard opens wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. On the tongue, this well-balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. The final of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of Burgundy, more precisely from Côte de Beaune and Haute Côtes de Beaune, finally impresses with considerable reverberation.

Vinification of the Pommard from Louis Jadot

The basis for the balanced Pommard from Burgundy are grapes from the grape variety Pinot Noir. Clearly, the Pommard is also determined by more than just the soil Côte de Beaune and Haute Côtes de Beaune. This French wine can literally be described as an Old World wine that is exceptionally impressive. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by a maturation of 18 months in oak barriques.

Food recommendation for the Pommard of Louis Jadot

Experience this red wine from France ideally tempered at 15 - 18 ° C as an accompanying wine to duck breast with sugar snap peas, boeuf bourguignon or braised chicken in red wine.
