Pomino Bianco from Castello Pomino
A cuvée of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc of great elegance and refinement, coming from one of the areas of Tuscany best suited to the production of white wines, at an altitude of up to 700 meters. The light-bodied Pomino Bianco from Castello Pomino has a beautiful straw yellow color. On the nose it reminds of citrus fruits like lemon, but also of green apple and pear. In addition, there are floral notes such as blue-rain, chamomile, lily and broom. Finally, some delicate impressions appear, reminiscent of exotic fruits such as pineapple. Delightful freshness on the palate with a wonderful minerality.
Castello Pomino Pomino Bianco delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with 2.6 grams of residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this Italian naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need a lot of sugar. Light-footed and multilayered, this crisp white wine presents itself on the palate. Due to its concise fruit acidity, the Pomino Bianco is very balanced on the palate , fresh and fulfilling in the mouth. The final of this white wine from the wine region of Tuscany, more precisely from Pomino DOC, finally impresses with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the soils dominated by marl and limestone.
Vinification of Castello Pomino - Pomino Bianco
The elegant Pomino Bianco from Italy is a cuvée, vinified from the grape varieties Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. In Tuscany, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of limestone and marl. The grapes for this white wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand, at the time of optimal ripeness. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Pomino Bianco is aged for 4 months in oak barrels. The aging in wooden barrels is followed by a considerable bottle aging, which makes this white wine even more complex.
