More information about Pomerol AOC - Château Maillet

In the glass, the Pomerol from Château Maillet offers a dense purple color. Held at a slight angle, the Bordeaux glass reveals a charming garnet red hue at the rims. After the initial swirl, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, evident in church windows at the rim of the glass. In the glass, this red wine from Château Maillet reveals aromas of plum and violet, complemented by vanilla, coffee/mocha and black cherry. On the palate, Château Maillet's Pomerol opens wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. On the tongue, this punchy red wine is characterized by an immensely powerful texture. In the finish, this wine from the Bordeaux wine-growing region, which can be stored well, finally inspires with considerable length. Once again, hints of violets and plum show.

Vinification of the Pomerol from Château Maillet

This powerful red wine from France is made from Cabernet Franc and Merlot grape varieties. Pomerol is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Frenchman breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. After the hand harvest, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.

Food recommendation for Château Maillet Pomerol

This French wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to roasted calf's liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce, cod with cucumber-mustard vegetables or cabbage roulades.
