The Pintia by Vega Sicilia is a 100%Tempranillo, revealed in a deep cherry red with violet shades. The Pintia by Vega Sicilia pampers with an irresistible, almost explosive bouquet. Spicy, mineral, fruity, earthy and smoky with notes of blackberries, spicy liquorice and undergrowth, this is how its fragrance presents itself. The maturation of the Pintia in French, American and Hungarian oak also gives it fine wood notes.

On the palate shows the enormous power of the Pintia of Vega Sicilia. Despite its enormous abundance and opulence, this Toro top wine never presents itself aggressively, but juicy, dense, excellently structured and silky, with mature, exquisite, grippy tannin.

Vinification of the Vega Sicilia Pintia The Tempranillo or Tinta-de-Toro grapes for

grow on barren, rocky soils with a pebble top layer. The layers near the river also have flooded soils with silt and clay. Grapes for the Pintia are also sourced from vineyards with limestone background.

After harvesting, the grapes are immediately brought to the winery, first cold mashed here and then fermented traditionally on the mash. After alcoholic fermentation, the Pintia is transformed into oak barrels, 70% being made from French, 25% from American and 5% from Hungarian oak. In this the Vega Sicilia also performs the biological acid conversion. In the spring of next year, the individual batches are finally tasted, assembled and filled onto the bottle for maturation. Here the Pintia can refine itself for another 3 years
