The Pinotage Bottelary Hills by Neil Ellis is a wonderful, grape varietal and balanced red wine from the South African wine region Stellenbosch.
In a dark ruby red with cherry red highlights, this wine presents itself in the glass. The lush bouquet is dominated by dark stone fruits (ripe cherries and juicy plums) with a hint of dark chocolate. On the palate, this South African red wine is wonderfully balanced and shows a great elegance, a ripe tanning structure with a finely integrated fruit acid. The finale comes with a pleasant length.
Vinification of Neil Ellis Pinotage Bottelary Hills
The Pinotage grapes for this red wine are immediately brought to Neil Ellis' wine cellar after harvesting. There, the readings are first fermented classically in a stainless steel tank. After completion of the fermentation process, this wine is rounded off for 16 months in French oak wooden barrels - 60% of which are new wood.
Food recommendation for Bottelary Hills Neil Ellis Pinotage
This dry red wine from South Africa goes perfectly with all kinds of game dishes in a strong dark sauce, beef ragout with homemade spaetzle or also with selected ham and salami specialties. We recommend that you decant this wine at least 1 to 2 hours before enjoying it.
