More information about Pessac-Léognan AOC Grand Cru Classé Rouge - Château La Mission-Haut-Brion

The Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru Classé Rouge from Château La Mission-Haut-Brion in Bordeaux offers a bright, crimson color in the tilted glass. Held at a slight angle, the Bordeaux glass reveals a charming brick tone at the rims. This French cuvée reveals wonderfully expressive notes of blackberry in the glass. These are joined by hints of cloves and black cherry.

On the palate, Château La Mission-Haut-Brion's Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru Classé Rouge opens wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine is wonderfully creamy. In the finish, this red wine from the wine-growing region of Bordeaux finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of blackberry. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the gravel-dominated soils are added.

Vinification of the Château La Mission-Haut-Brion Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru Classé Rouge

The balanced Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru Classé Rouge from France is a cuvée vinified from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. In Bordeaux, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of gravel. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for the Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru Classé Rouge are harvested exclusively by hand without the use of coarse and less selective full harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the elegant Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru Classé Rouge is aged for another 20 months in oak barrels.
