The history of Domaines Paul Jaboulet Aîné begins in 1834. The father of Paul and Henry founded the winery in Tain l'Hermitage, which experienced an unprecedented boom under the sons.
Domaines Paul Jaboulet Aine - the story
With the combination of passion for winegrowing and special terroir, the following generations also have great success. Today, the management of Domaines Paul Jaboulet Aîné is in the hands of Frédéric Jaboulet and Frédéric Mairesse. They were joined in 2006 by the Frey family, a family of winemakers from Champagne.
Top qualities of the Paul Jaboulet wines
The top qualities of the Domaines from the northern Rhône, which remain as usual, leave no doubt about the success of this collaboration! The terroirs remain outstanding, the yields have been reduced. The grapes from nearly 100 hectares of vineyards are vinified with the utmost care, prudence and rigor, together with Caroline Frey, a qualified oenologist. The wines are aged in the Vineum, the thousand-year-old cellar with its Gallo-Roman galleries. The flagship of the house is the legendary Hermitage La Chapelle, whose 1961 vintage was named one of the twelve greatest wines of the 20th century.
