The Rebholz family of winegrowers, which can look back to the 16th century, today consists of Birgit and HansjörgRebholz with their children and have lived in Siebeldingen for many generations.
Long family tradition of the Rebholz family
All members of the Rebholz family have always had something to do with wine. For three generations, however, they have concentrated entirely on viticulture in the stately house on the wine road.
With remarkable consequences: during these years, an in-house wine type was developed and cultivated, the Rebholz type. At the beginning it was rather provocative, but later it brought recognition and success to the house. It is precisely because of him that the winery has been one of the best addresses in the republic for years.
The Rebholz winery is located in Siebeldingen in the beautiful Palatinate region. The Palatinate can be divided into two large wine-growing regions, namely Mittelhaardt and Südliche Weinstraße. Siebeldingen is located in the very heart of the Southern Wine Route. As in the entire Palatinate, the Rebholz winery is dominated by the ever-popular Riesling. But it is actually Pinot Blanc with which Hans Jörg Rebholz has become known. But no matter which grape variety: at Rebholz, care is always taken to ensure that each vineyard reflects its own character in the glass.
Biodynamic viticulture
To work as closely as possible with nature - that is the concept of the natural winery. Therefore, it is natural to practice ecological viticulture. Since 2005, all of Rebholz 's vineyards have been farmed according to organic guidelines, and shortly thereafter, biodynamically. The use of herbicides, synthetic chemical fungicides and mineral fertilizers is avoided in order to preserve the natural ecosystem and protect the environment. With the use of plant strengthening agents, the plants are strengthened and hardened in a natural way.
For the operational organization, ecological cultivation means an additional effort, which, however, the winery gladly accepts in order to promote and increase the biodiversity of the plant and animal world in the ecosystem of the vineyard. Thus, all Rebholz wines comply with the guidelines of the EU organic regulation and are labeled with the EU organic seal. All wines are subject to the organic control number DE-ÖKO-003.
