The Oberbergener Bassgeige Pinot Blanc from Weingut Franz Keller in Baden presents a brilliant, light yellow color in the swirled glass. To the nose, this Weingut Franz Keller white wine reveals all sorts of apples, pears, quince and nashi pear. As if that wasn't already impressive, the stainless steel aging adds more flavors like walnut, juniper, and whole-nut chocolate
This white wine from Weingut Franz Keller is ideal for all wine enthusiasts who like it dry. However, it is never dry or brittle, but round and smooth. In the finish, this white wine from the wine-growing region of Baden finally inspires with good length. There are again hints of quince and apple. In the finish, mineral notes of the soils dominated by loess and volcanic rock are added.
Vinification of the Oberbergener Bassgeige Pinot Blanc from Weingut Franz Keller
The elegant Oberbergener Bassgeige Pinot Blanc from Baden is made from grapes of the Pinot Blanc variety. In Baden, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of loess and volcanic rock. After the hand harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by a few months of maturation on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.
Food recommendation for the Weingut Franz Keller Oberbergener Bassgeige Pinot Blanc
This white wine from Germany is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to leek soup, veal and onion casserole or potato pan with salmon.
