The colour is ruby red and shines with violet sparkling reflections.
Even the nose suggests the quality of the Niccoló V Riserva. The fragrance is incredibly complex with notes from spicy black pepper and cinnamon, musk, leather to tobacco, chocolate and red fruit jam. Deceptive and not wanting to end at the same time.
On the palate, this top-class red wine unfolds its full potential. One is in fact overwhelmed by masculinity and strength. A wine like his terroir - especially.
On the palate, this structured wine of the Cantine Lunae is warm and convincing, with a lot of personality. Drink this wine from a Bordeaux glass to give it the necessary size.
It is best to drink the Niccolò V with meat dishes such as Florentine steak, deer or matured cheese.
Facts about the construction and extension of the Niccolò V Colli di Luni DOC of the Cantine Lunae
The vineyards in which the vines have been rooted for several decades range from Castelnuovo Magra to Ortonovo.
The 40-year-old Merlot, Pollera Nera & Sangiovese vines, which form the cuvée for the Niccolò V Riserva Colli di Luni DOC of the Cantine Lunae, stand on skeleton-rich vineyards interspersed with pebbles. The dense planting with 4500 sticks per hectare brings the vine a natural competition and the wine strength and depth. After the fully ripe grapes have been harvested in the course of September, they are carefully fermented in stainless steel at a maceration time of about 15 days. Alcoholic fermentation is followed by an 18-month ageing period in barriques and a 6-month ageing period in the bottle before it can be sold
