Poggio Valente Morellino di Scansano Riserva DOCG 3,0 l Doppelmagnum 2017 - Le Pupille
Prices incl. VAT plus shipping costs
The Poggio Valente from Fattoria Le Pupille shines in a dense, dark red in the glass. The nose reveals aromas of red fruits, especially cherry, followed by balsamic notes. The palate is powerful and round with beautiful fruit and firm, silky tannins. The finish is tasteful and pleasantly fresh.
Vinification of thePoggio Valente from Fattoria Le Pupille
In 1996 Elisabetta Geppetti acquired the single vineyard Poggio Valente near the medieval village of Pereta in the south of Tuscany. The vineyard is situated at an altitude of 280 m.a.s.l., in a hilly position, the upper soil structure is sand and lies on sandstone rocks. Selected Sangiovese clones and a small percentage of Alicante grow here. The grapes are harvested when they are a little overripe and then macerate on their skins for about 25 days. Fermentation and malolactic fermentation take place in stainless steel tanks, after which the wine is aged in small wooden barrels of French oak and a small part of American white oak for 15 months.
