Castello di Nipozzano's Montesodi Toscana IGT is a historic cruise from the homonymous location of the Frescobaldi family winery, which has been produced since 1974 and only in the best vintages.
In the glass, the Montesodi of Castello di Nipozzano shines in a rich, shiny ruby red with garnet-colored reflections. A complex and intense bouquet surprises with large aromas of red fruits, blackberry and pickled cherries, floral notes of forest violets and orange blossoms, mineral and spicy notes in the background. Soft and warm on the palate, persistently mineral, with ripe, slightly rough tannins and hints of roasted notes. In the long, aristocratic and sustainable finish, fruity and a hint of bitter taste notes resemble bitter orange jam
.Vinification of Montesodi di Castello di Nipozzano
This cru has been produced exclusively from Sangiovese grapes from the vineyard of the same name at 400 m since 1974. Only the best vintages are vinified. This location has always been considered the best of the Sangiovese winery. The vines are over 20 years old.
After manual harvesting, the grapes are mixed for 30 days, followed by malolactic fermentation. The ageing takes place in large wooden barrels made of Austrian and French oak for 18 months, followed by another 6 months of bottle storage
Food paring for the Montesodi of Castello di Nipozzano by Frescobaldi
This powerful red wine goes perfectly with short roasted red meat and especially well with Bistecca alla Fiorentina.
