With the Bickel-Stumpf Mönchshof Silvaner comes a first-class white wine in the wine glass. In this it presents a wonderfully dense, light yellow color. When swirling the wine glass, this white wine reveals a high density and fullness, which shows in church windows at the edge of the glass. To the nose, this Bickel-Stumpf white wine reveals all sorts of apples, pears, acacia, honeysuckle and lilies. As if that wasn't already impressive, vanilla, cocoa bean and dark chocolate join in due to the aging in stainless steel.
This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with only 8.1 grams of residual sugar. As you would naturally expect from a wine in the icon wine segment, this German wine naturally enraptures with the finest balance for all its dryness. Taste does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. This dense white wine presents itself on the palate full of pressure and facets. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Mönchshof Silvaner Großes Gewächs reveals itself wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this white wine from the wine-growing region of Franconia finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of rose and violets. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the limestone-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Mönchshof Silvaner Großes Gewächs from Bickel-Stumpf
The basis for the powerful Mönchshof Silvaner Großes Gewächs from Franconia are grapes from the Silvaner grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Franconia. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of limestone. Of course, the Mönchshof Silvaner Großes Gewächs is also determined by climatic and stylistic factors of Frickenhausen. This German wine can be described in the best sense of the word as an Old World wine that presents itself in an exceptionally impressive manner. The fact that the Silvaner grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate also has an influence on the ripeness of the grapes that cannot be dismissed. This manifests itself, among other things, in particularly long and uniform grapes and rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. The grapes for this white wine from Germany are harvested, at the time of optimal ripeness, exclusively by hand . After the hand harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and gently broken up. Then fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Mönchshof Silvaner Großes Gewächs can harmonize further for several months on the fine lees.
