The G.A.M. Shiraz McLaren Vale from the wine-growing region of South Australia, matured in the barrel, reveals itself in the glass in a dense purple red. The first nose of G.A.M. Shiraz McLaren Vale reveals notes of blueberries, blackberries and mulberries. The fruity aspects of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel ageing and even more fruity-balsamic nuances.
The G.A.M. Shiraz McLaren Vale from Mitolo Wines is just right for all connoisseurs who like as little residual sugar in their wine as possible. However, it is never sparse or brittle, as you would expect from a wine. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterised by an incredibly dense texture. The G.A.M. Shiraz McLaren Vale reveals itself wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate through its succinct fruit acidity. In the finish this very storable red wine from the wine growing region South Australia finally inspires with its extraordinary length. There are again hints of mulberry and black currant. In the aftertaste mineral notes of the soils dominated by limestone and clay are added.
Vinification of the G.A.M. Shiraz McLaren Vale from Mitolo Wines
Basis for the powerful G.A.M. Shiraz McLaren Vale from South Australia are grapes from the Syrah grape variety. In South Australia, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and limestone. At optimal ripeness, the grapes for G.A.M. Shiraz McLaren Vale are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective grape harvesters. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately transported to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken down. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by a maturation for 18 months in French oak barrels.
