More information about Matarocchio Bolgheri DOC - Tenuta Guado al Tasso (Antinori)

The Tenuta Guado al Tasso (Antinori) Matarocchio Bolgheri is a first-class red wine. It presents a wonderfully dense, purple-red color. The rim also shows a color transition to garnet red. This Tenuta Guado al Tasso (Antinori) red wine reveals all kinds of sour cherries on the nose. As if that were not already impressive, the ageing in small wooden barrels adds further aromas such as liquorice and juniper berries.

The Tenuta Guado al Tasso (Antinori) Matarocchio Bolgheri is pleasantly dry to the palate. This red wine is never coarse or austere, but round and smooth. On the palate, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly silky texture. The finish of this mature red wine from the wine-growing region of Tuscany, more precisely from the Bolgheri DOC region, is impressive with a remarkable aftertaste.

Vinification of the Matarocchio Bolgheri from Tenuta Guado al Tasso (Antinori)

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Cabernet Franc. Only flawless grapes were brought in for this wonderfully powerful single-varietal wine from Tenuta Guado al Tasso (Antinori). Once perfect physiological ripeness has been ensured, the grapes for Matarocchio Bolgheri are harvested exclusively by hand without the aid of coarse and less selective machines. After harvesting, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the powerful Matarocchio Bolgheri is aged for 18 months in French oak barriques.
