The grapes for the complex, grape varietal Mas Cavalls Pinot Noir from Marimar Estate grow in the single location Doña Margarita Vineyard in the American wine-growing region Sonoma Coast.
In the glass, this wine shimmers in a deep ruby red with garnet red highlights. The seductive bouquet is carried by intense aromas of ripe blueberries, blackcurrants and raspberry jam - accompanied by the fruity aromas of terroir-typical mineral notes and spicy tones.
On the palate, this American red wine presents itself with a round, multi-faceted body. The aromatic fruit fullness balances very well with the spiciness and the perfectly integrated, firm tannin structure. This wine finishes with a wonderful length and elegance.
Vinification of Marimar Mas Cavalls Pinot Noir
The Pinot Noir grapes for this red wine are harvested by hand in the California cultivation area Sonoma. Once the harvested material has arrived in the wine cellar of Marimar, it is only slightly squeezed and fermented with natural environmental yeasts in the stainless steel tank. After the fermentation is complete, this wine is aged in premium wood barrels for 12 months (49% new wood). After maturing in oak wood, this red wine is poured onto the bottle unscented and unfiltered and remains on the bottle for a longer period of time before it leaves the winery.
Food recommendation for Mas Cavalls Pinot Noir Marimar
Serve this dry red wine from the USA with roast beef in a herb coat and swirled potatoes, mushroom pan dishes, wild boar ragout with noodles and cranberries or with selected terrines and pies.
