The Markgräflerland Spätburgunder from the pen of Martin Waßmer from Baden presents a bright, light red colour in the swirled glass. In the glass, this red wine from Martin Waßmer presents aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries, plums, black cherries and morello cherries, complemented by oak, vanilla and toasted barrique

This red from Martin Waßmer is just right for all wine enthusiasts who like as little sweetness as possible in their wine. At the same time, however, it never shows itself to be meager or brittle, as one would naturally expect from a wine in the high quality wine range. Due to the balanced fruit acid, the Markgräflerland Spätburgunder flatters the palate with a velvety feeling without lacking freshness.

Vinification of the Martin Waßmer Markgräflerland Spätburgunder

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Pinot Noir. Only the best grapes were used for this exceptionally balanced, single-varietal wine from Martin Waßmer. In Baden, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and limestone. After the hand harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows at controlled temperatures. 

Food recommendation for the Markgräflerland Spätburgunder by Martin Waßmer

This German wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to roasted calf's liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce, ossobuco or veal boiled beef with beans and tomatoes.
