More information about Margaux AOP - Château La Tour de Bessan

The Margaux from the pen of Château La Tour de Bessan of Bordeaux presents a bright purple color in the swirled glass. Held at a slight angle, the Bordeaux glass reveals a charming garnet red hue at the rims. After the first swirl, one can perceive a first-rate balance in this red wine, as it does not stand out watery or syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. To the nose, this Château La Tour de Bessan red wine reveals all manner of blackberries and black currants. As if that were not already impressive, the aging in small wooden barrels adds further aromas such as blueberry.

The Château La Tour de Bessan Margaux presents itself to the connoisseur wonderfully dry. This red wine is never coarse or meager, but round and smooth. On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine is wonderfully velvety. The final of this mature red wine from the wine-growing region of Bordeaux, more precisely from Margaux, finally convinces with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by gravel and clay.

Vinification of Château La Tour de Bessan Margaux

The basis for the balanced Margaux from France are grapes from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. In Bordeaux, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and gravel. Margaux is an Old World wine through and through, as this Frenchman breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for Margaux are harvested exclusively by hand without the aid of crude and less selective machinery. After the harvest, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in small wood at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.

Food recommendation for Château La Tour de Bessan Margaux

Drink this red wine from France ideally tempered at 15 - 18 ° C as an accompanying wine to cod with cucumber-mustard vegetables, pasta with sausage dumplings or stuffed peppers.
