The Mandrarossa Timperosse appears in the glass in a deep dark red with violet reflections and unfolds its wonderful bouquet of ripe red fruits, such as cherry. These aromas are accompanied by juicy yellow apples, plums and mulberries with a hint of rosemary and sage.
On the palate, this red wine from Sicily is elegant with notes of dark berries and spices and is intense with its rich, polished tannins.
Vinification for the Mandrarossa Timperosse
The vines grow on dry red sandy soils. The flat, south-facing vineyards that give this wine its name are located in Timperosse, Menfi near Agrigento.
After the 4-6 days of mash fermentation at 15-18° Celsius, this wine of the Petit Verdot grape variety matures for 3 months at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks and then for a further 4 months in bottle.
